For about eight months in late 2018-2019, I was given the opportunity to design some of the arts and entertainment pages for the Peoria Journal Star. It was an eye-opening, challenging experience for a photographer. These duties came to an end when the design desk was moved to a national design center, but not before I gained a profound appreciation for the unique skills and stresses of page design and copy editing.
