Lifting their voices
The Peoria Fellowship Choir is made up of about 30 young people from various churches across the city, mostly Baptist and predominantly black. For the members, the choir is more than just a singing group or a ministry, it’s a family. They sing together, pray together, socialize and counsel one another on everything from peer pressure to family problems. The group was preparing for a trip to perform at a church in St. Louis when I caught up with them.
